Bank-related transfers dominate sparse Petersham deed data for August

Petersham recorded 12 property transfers between Aug. 7 and Sept. 5, but only two carried a posted sale price: $100,000 and $249,000, a range too small to support a reliable median. The month's most notable transaction was 41 East St., which sold for $249,000 on Sept. 2 from Linda S. Kenney to Cornerstone Bank. Eight of the 12 transfers involved a bank, credit union or mortgage-related entity as buyer or seller, and two others were nominal-consideration transfers rather than market sales. With most prices still unposted, the data does not support characterizing this period as active or quiet.
