Petersham Deed Filings Rise in Late Summer, but Most Sale Prices Remain Unlisted

Twelve property transfers were recorded in Petersham from July 24 through Aug. 22, but only one, the $100,000 sale of 73 Old East St., carried a confirmed price in Worcester County Registry of Deeds records. The other nine market transfers had no price listed as of this report, a common lag in registry filings, while two transfers, on Old Barre Road and Barre Road, were recorded for nominal consideration and are not counted as sales. Monson Turnpike Road and Old East Street each saw multiple transfers. Financial institutions, including Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc., Bank of America and Cornerstone Bank, were named as grantor or grantee in seven of the 12 recorded deeds this period.
